The Planets Suite by Gustav Holst is one of my favorite pieces of music of all time. Anyone who would want to make a similar album in a different musical style would have their work cut out for them. Ayloss and Jacob, who are both fantastic musicians come together and you know what? They actually make a record thats comparable in quality. This is the Black Metal Planets Suite. perfect atmosphere, huge riffs wrapped upped in gorgeous and mesmerizing melodies and dynamic harmonies. Get this! 5/5 ClassyMusicSnob

Here I am sitting in misery with the migraine of my life, and I think I've found my cure. Mare Cognitum is not just giving me relief from my suffering; it is giving me energy as the pure and unadulterated rage and fury of Solar Paroxysm is being channelled through my body. I really regret not giving Mare Cognitum a second chance earlier, but I can now live at peace knowing that I'm lucky enough to be able to experience such an exhilarating and majestic masterpiece of brutality and therapy. It took me far longer than I care to admit to "get" Mare Cognitum. But here we are, all the way at the beginning, where it all started; and what a masterpiece it is. "Ambient" black metal is seriously underselling this album. It is raw, it is brutal, it will not hesitate to eat you alive; and yet it is musical, it is emotional, and it will shelter you with its wings. I often turn to metal when in times of rage, but Mare Cognitum has shown that rage can still be contained and reasoned with. Faith

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it.
That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten
